Alright, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna blow your healthy brains out with this one. I mean, who DOESN'T love ice cream? I even mentioned it in my last post (check out Tomato Pasta with Parmesan). I'm pretty sure everyone loves it, and now there's a healthy twist for this treat! (Isn't there always?) :)
Anyway, banana (also known as nanner here guys FYI) ice cream is SUPER EASY. Like, put a frozen-banana-and-some-milk-in-the-blender easy. Literally, that's all there is to it. But I could keep talking about it. For hours. Hours. Which I'm going to do, BTW. (Just kidding, but I am going to draw it out longer for ya to build it up.) He he. Again, going off on a tangent. But did I mention this is a perfect girls-night (or guys) do-it-yourself-dessert-bar thing? It is. Have your friends over, make your banana ice cream, set up your toppings (healthy!!) and let them have it. Trust me, it's a crowd pleaser. (Speaking from experience here guys!) And some toppings you can use include coconut, nuts, sliced fruit, chocolate chips, etc. Use your fave little treats! So next Friday night (or a fun little Wednesday night thingie?) have your friends over and serve a nanner ice cream bar. They. Will. Like. It. No, they will love it, knowing that they are eating healthy but but but it still tastes yummy. (Soooo importante!) Read further for the recipe, and really actually make this! I promise it's good!! Nanner Ice Cream (serves 1) Ingredients: 1 frozen banana* 1/2 cup soy, almond, or regular milk Healthy, assorted toppings Put the frozen banana in a blender along with the milk and blend until smooth and creamy. (You may need to add more liquid. But if you add too much it will be like a banana shake. Still yummy, but just letting ya know.) :) Pour your mixture into your desired serving bowls and add your favorite healthy toppings! Yay! A great way to end you night. *This is 1 banana is per serving. So if you have 2 people, use 2 bananas, 3 people, 3 bananas, etc. *courtesy of Body and Soul by Bethany Hamilton.
