On a warm day that feels like summer, it makes sense that I'm craving a refreshing glass of homemade juice! My family does not own a juicer, but my friend does and we whipped up a batch of DIY pineapple-orange-mango-ginger juice together. It was delicious. So, I hate to break it to you, but you will need a juicer for this recipe. I tried to make "juice" using a blender before, and it did not turn out. The juice was really pulpy and thick. So, either use your juicer for this recipe, or someone else's like I did!!
If you decide to add ginger to your juice (you don't have to) I would start off with just a little bit to make sure you like it! Ginger has a strong taste, but many people like it's flavor. I happen to love it, but use it sparingly. Happy juicing, friends!!
Start off by cutting your oranges. Make sure you don't juice the skin. Just get the fruit.
Next, slice the pineapple. If you have pre-cut, like I did, make sure you take the core out.
Yay, mango! Peel the skin off and then slice into pieces. Again, do not use the core.
Finally, slice your ginger, if desired. Again, you do not have to put it in if you don't want to. But if you do, just use a small piece and peel the brown skin off!!
Now for the fun part! Put your ingredients into the juicer (make sure your cup is ready underneath). Pour into glasses, and there you have it! DIY delicious fresh juice. Fun, right? Sip outside and enjoy the sun! Happy taste of summer. :)
Pineapple-Orange-Mango-Ginger Juice (serves 2):
4 big chunks of pineapple
ginger (about the size of your thumb)
Peel and chop all ingredients. Juice them in a juicer. Remember, this serves 2 so you may need to double or triple the recipe! It takes a lot of fruit or veggies to actually make enough juice, so you may need to add more fruit, too. The ratio is totally up to you. Pour into glasses and enjoy!
